Disability in STEM and What Makes Us So Great

3.15pm – 4.15pm BST, 31 March 2025 ‐ 1 hour

Room: Hall 9

Roundtable

This interactive roundtable discussion will explore what it means to be disabled in STEM, how disabled scientists can showcase their talent to the world, and ways to navigate and challenge the stigma often faced in the field. Max Fisher, a DeafBlind and disabled scientist recently named the UK’s most influential disabled scientist in the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 (2024), will briefly share their own career journey before opening the floor for a wider discussion.

This is a space to share experiences, learn from one another, and connect over shared struggles and triumphs. Attendees are encouraged to come with an open mind, ask questions, and contribute their perspectives as we build a stronger, more inclusive STEM community together.
