Workshop

An energising session for people who feel capable but unsure- working hard without seeing the returns they expected. Delivered by WHEN, the organisation behind the 100 Black Women Professors NOW movement, the session draws on WHEN’s unique growth environment approach.

The session is built around three keys to career traction: clarity, confidence, and community, as practical levers for momentum.

Clarity focuses on direction and positioning. Participants cut through noise and obligation to identify what they are aiming for next, what they want to be known for, and where their effort is currently misaligned.

Confidence is reframed away from personality or bravado and treated as a strategic capability. Participants examine how self-doubt, over-preparation, or perfectionism may be constraining visibility and risk-taking, and learn how to project credibility before they feel “ready”.

Community addresses a reality many people underestimate: careers accelerate through people. This section explores sponsorship, peer support, and strategic relationships, challenging the myth of self-made success and helping participants identify where connection is the missing ingredient.

The session ends with a focused 30-day traction plan that will see participants moving forward.
