MLSFF26 Accomodation Grant

Financial support for delegate accommodation at MLSFF26.

Application Deadline: 14 December 2025.

We believe that the advancement of life sciences and the enrichment of academia are significantly enhanced when individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and training are involved. To this end, we welcome applicants from various backgrounds and strongly encourage applications from individuals:

from marginalised groups that are currently underrepresented in the life sciences
from disadvantaged backgrounds
who identify as LGBTQIA+
with physical or mental disabilities, including neurodiversity
mature and non-traditional students who can bring unique perspectives and experiences

Please review the eligibility and application requirements below. Successful applicants will receive a link to the official MLSFF26 partner-hotel booking page, which will be made live once grants have been approved.

Accommodation grants cover stays up to two nights at partner hotels within walking distance of the EICC.

Travel grants are managed separately and must be applied for through the Travel Grant page

A limited number of complimentary hotel rooms on Sunday, 22 March are reserved for delegates with physical or mental disabilities—please contact [email protected] for further details.

Under no circumstances will cash be given as an alternative.

Eligibility Requirements

Participants eligible for this award must reside in the United Kingdom or Rest of Europe and include:

Conference Contributors:

Delegates accepted to present a poster or oral presentation.
Speakers and those involved in facilitating career development sessions such as workshops and roundtable discussions

Participation Status:

Both first-time and returning contributors are eligible.
Must be actively involved in the conference, either in preparation or during the event activities.

Educational and Professional Status:

Open to participants from various stages of their academic or professional journey, including undergraduate students, postgraduates, postbaccalaureate students, and professionals in the field.

Application Requirements

Complete the online application form detailing the nature of your contribution to the conference.
Deadline for grant applications and requests for financial assistance is 14 December 2025.

Award Package

The MLSFF26 Accommodation Grant covers the cost of hotel accommodation for eligible delegates attending the Minoritised Life Scientists Future Forum in Edinburgh (23–25 March 2026).

Grants cover up to two nights’ stay (normally Monday and Tuesday) at one of the designated MLSFF26 partner hotels within walking distance of the EICC.
Funding for accommodation is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Approved delegates will book directly with the hotel using the MLSFF26 booking link provided and claim reimbursement after attending the event.
The grant does not cover personal expenses or additional costs such as room service, bar charges, external dining, upgrades, or incidental spending during your stay. Delegates are responsible for any additional costs incurred.

Award Requirements

Accommodation grant recipients are expected to contribute actively to the success and visibility of MLSFF26.

Awardees are encouraged to share their experiences before, during, and after MLSFF26 for example, by posting on social media, sharing key insights, or reflecting on their participation. This helps amplify the event’s message, highlight diverse contributions, and inspire others within the scientific community.

In addition, recipients must:

Deliver their presentation or display their poster at the assigned time.
Actively fulfil any assigned role..
Complete the post-conference survey, providing feedback on both the event and the grant’s impact.

Failure to meet these expectations may affect eligibility for future MLSFF or AMI awards.

Notification of Grant Decisions

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application within 6 weeks of application.
Successful applicants will receive access to a unique webpage, which details a list of the MLSFF26 partner hotels and the relevant booking links.
