Future Forum Travel Bursary
We believe that the advancement of life sciences and the enrichment of academia are significantly enhanced when individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and training are involved. To this end, we welcome applicants from various backgrounds and strongly encourage applications from individuals:
- from marginalised groups that are currently underrepresented in the life sciences
- from disadvantaged backgrounds
- who identify as LGBTQIA+
- with physical or mental disabilities, including neurodiversity
- mature and non-traditional students who can bring unique perspectives and experiences

Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility for the travel award is designed to recognise and support a diverse array of contributions to the Future Forum. Participants eligible for this award include:
Conference Contributors:
- Delegates accepted to present a poster or oral presentation.
- Individuals contributing to the conference operations through volunteering, including registration assistance, session moderation, or logistical support.
- Those involved in judging posters, competitions or facilitating sessions such as workshops and roundtable discussions
Participation Status:
- Both first-time and returning contributors are eligible.
- Must be actively involved in the conference, either in preparation or during the event activities.
Educational and Professional Status:
- Open to participants from various stages of their academic or professional journey, including undergraduate students, postgraduates, postbaccalaureate students, and professionals in the field.
Application Requirements
- Complete the online application form detailing the nature of your contribution to the conference.
- Deadline for grant applications and requests for financial assistance is 15 January 2025
Award Package
- Covers reasonable travel expenses, such as standard class train fare, to ensure that attending the conference is financially accessible. You are encouraged to seek the most economical travel options available.
Award Requirements
Awardees are expected to actively share their experiences on social media before, during, and after the event, helping to amplify the conference's message and spread the word about their unique contributions. This engagement not only enriches their own professional profile but also enhances the visibility and impact of the conference.
In addition, you must:
- Present your poster or give your oral presentation at the assigned times.
- Actively participate in your designated roles, whether as speakers, volunteers, session moderators, or any other assigned duty.
- Complete a post-conference survey to provide feedback on your experience and the impact of your involvement.
Failure to complete the requirements may result in the grant offer being removed.
Notification of Grant Decisions
- Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their travel grant applications by 30th January 2025.
Reimbursement
Successful applicants are required to submit their travel reimbursement claims using the link to the claim form below after the conference, ensuring compliance with the grant's terms and conditions.
