Unfortunately, we are only able to accept volunteer applications from individuals within the United Kingdom. Please note that Accessibility Support Volunteers will require specific background checks due to the nature of their role. For all other volunteer positions, while a detailed background check is not necessary, we may wish to collect a reference. We appreciate your understanding and much needed support!
TYPES OF VOLUNTEER ROLES
Registration and Check-In (Skills gained: customer service, communication, organisational skills).
- Greet attendees, check them in, distribute name badges and conference materials, and provide information about the conference schedule, venues, and amenities.
Communications and Outreach (Skills gained: content creation, digital marketing, storytelling)
- Social Media Ambassadors: share and post live updates, photos, and highlights on social media platforms.
- Photographers/Videographers: capture key moments of the conference for promotional and archival purposes.
- Bloggers/Writers: write summaries of sessions, interviews with speakers, or articles for the conference website or newsletter.
Exhibition and Poster Sessions (Skills gained: event management, logistics coordination, teamwork).
- Exhibition Hall Assistant: Help exhibitors set up booths, provide assistance during exhibit hours, and manage attendee traffic.
- Poster Session Coordinators: Assist presenters with poster setup.
Accessibility Support Volunteers (Skills gained: empathy, problem-solving, disability awareness).
- Act as a buddy for delegates with physical or mental disabilities, including neurodiversity, ensuring their needs are met throughout the event, helping them navigate the venue, and participate fully in conference activities.
Judges (Skills gained: analytical thinking, constructive feedback, subject matter expertise.)
- Assist in evaluating poster and oral presentations, providing valuable feedback to presenters.
