Future Forum Registration Fees Grant

Facilitating access for underrepresented scientists to participate at the Future Forum.

We believe that the advancement of life sciences and the enrichment of academia are significantly enhanced when individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and training are involved. To this end, we welcome applicants from various backgrounds and strongly encourage applications from individuals: 

  • from marginalised groups that are currently underrepresented in the life sciences
  • from disadvantaged backgrounds 
  • who identify as LGBTQIA+
  • with physical or mental disabilities, including neurodiversity
  • mature and non-traditional students who can bring unique perspectives and experiences

Eligibility Requirements

Conference Contributors:

  • Delegates accepted to present a poster or oral presentation.
  • Individuals contributing to the conference operations through volunteering, including registration assistance, session moderation, or logistical support.
  • Those involved in judging posters, competitions or facilitating sessions such as workshops and roundtable discussions

Participation Status:

  • Both first-time and returning contributors are eligible.
  • Must be actively involved in the conference, either in preparation or during the event activities.

Educational and Professional Status:

  • Open to participants from various stages of their academic or professional journey, including undergraduate students, postgraduates, postbaccalaureate students, and professionals in the field.

Application Requirements

  • Complete the online application form detailing the nature of your contribution to the conference.
  • Deadline for grant applications and requests for financial assistance is 15 January 2025

Award Package

  • The grant covers the full cost of the registration fee for the conference. Applicants can select from several registration options, including full package (with accommodation) or conference day rate (without accommodation), depending on their needs.
  • For those requiring accommodation, the grant includes up to two nights' stay at a designated hotel
  • The grant covers meals during the conference as provided to all attendees. 
  • Please note, the grant does not cover additional meals or expenses outside of the official conference activities, such as external dining or personal expenses. Applicants are responsible for any additional costs incurred during their stay.

Award Requirements

Awardees are expected to actively share their experiences on social media before, during, and after the event, helping to amplify the conference's message and spread the word about their unique contributions. This engagement not only enriches their own professional profile but also enhances the visibility and impact of the conference.

In addition, you must: 

  • Present your poster or give your oral presentation at the assigned times.
  • Actively participate in your designated roles, whether as speakers, volunteers, session moderators, or any other assigned duty.
  • Complete a post-conference survey to provide feedback on your experience and the impact of your involvement.

Notification of Grant Decisions

  • Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 30th January 2025.
  • Successful applicants will receive a unique discount code, which they must enter during the registration process to apply the grant's coverage.
